We are delighted to welcome first ever performer from Australia! Meet the 12-year-old Victoria Phan who will be travelling thousands of miles for her appearance at the Elena Cobb Star Prize Festival at the Royal Albert Hall Elgar Room. Victoria lives with her family in Adelaide, South Australia and she started her piano lessons with Urszula Gruszewski at the age of 9.
Under the guidance of her piano pedagogue, Victoria became a keen performer and over the last few years took part in several competitions at home and abroad. Among her achievements: Gwen Robinson Piano Prize, Balaklava Piano Championship, prizes in the Australian National Eisteddfod competition both in piano and violin, the 1st Prize at the Feurich Vienna Competition (Elena Cobb Star Prize category).
Victoria is also a prize winner for the Australian Music Examinations Board AMEB and at the recent Stage 4 Kids competition, Hamburg in 2018. Her concert performances include the Australian premiere of the Alexander Peskanov’s Piano Concerto in the presence of the composer in Adelaide and performance at the BMTG Winners Recital, Carnegie Hall, New York.
Even in her spare time, Victoria loves to perform and regularly participates in the musical events for the local community.
